Mountain Dew/Dr Pepper Returns as 2017 Sanderson Farms Championship Official Volunteer Sponsor

The Sanderson Farms Championship is pleased to announce that Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper brands, distributed by Brown Bottling Group, will return for the fifth year as the official volunteer sponsor for the PGA TOUR event which will celebrate its 50th anniversary at The Country Club of Jackson, October 23-29, 2017.

Over the last 50 years, Mississippi’s PGA TOUR event has raised just over $12 million for charity, primarily Friends of Children’s Hospital, a nonprofit organization created to support Children’s of Mississippi. Since 1994, Century Club Charities has served as the host organization for the event, raising approximately $1.4 million in 2016 for Mississippi charities.

“Brown Bottling Group is honored to once again partner with the Sanderson Farms Championship as the Volunteer Sponsor,” said Shelley Brown Floyd, Chief Marketing Officer of Brown Bottling Group. “Two Mississippi-based companies joining together to benefit Friends of Children’s Hospital, which supports Batson Children’s Hospital, part of Children’s of Mississippi, is a perfect combination.”

Steve Jent, executive director of the Sanderson Farms Championship, said, “We are excited to again have Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper on board as the official Volunteer Sponsor of the Sanderson Farms Championship. Our event would not be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, and along with Brown Bottling, we will take great care of them and ensure they have a wonderful experience.”

The tournament needs 1,000+ volunteers each year to serve in a variety of positions. Many statewide companies provide a large number of the tournament’s volunteers by sponsoring their employees as volunteer groups. Individual volunteer opportunities are available for those 15 and older. In order to reserve a spot on their preferred committee, those interested are encouraged to sign up early.
