The Sanderson Farms Championship is delighted to announce that Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper brands, distributed by Brown Bottling Group of Ridgeland, will return for the fourth year as the official volunteer sponsor for the tournament.
“Brown Bottling Group is thrilled to return as the Volunteer Sponsor for the 2016 Sanderson Farms Championship,” said Shelley Brown Floyd, the company’s chief marketing officer. “Mississippi companies uniting together to benefit Friends of Children’s Hospital and Children’s of Mississippi, the state’s only hospital for children, is a perfect combination.”
In order to run a successful championship, the tournament needs 1,000+ volunteers each year to serve in a variety of positions. Many Mississippi companies, in giving back to charity, provide a large number of the tournament’s volunteers by sponsoring their employees as volunteer groups. Individual volunteer opportunities are available for those 15 and older. In order to reserve a spot on their preferred committee, those interested are encouraged to sign up early. For details of each position please click here: Volunteer Opportunities. For additional information on volunteer opportunities, please e-mail us or call the Championship office at 601.898.4653.
Steve Jent, executive director of the Sanderson Farms Championship, said, “We are thrilled to have Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper return as the tournament’s official volunteer sponsor. Our volunteers are vital to the tournament, and along with Brown Bottling, we will ensure they are well taken care of and have a wonderful experience.”
The event, to be held at The Country Club of Jackson October 24-30, 2016, primarily benefits Friends of Children’s Hospital, a nonprofit organization created to support Children’s of Mississippi. Since 1994, Century Club Charities has served as the host organization for Mississippi’s PGA TOUR event, helping to raise over $11 million for statewide charities, including over $1.5 million in 2015.
